Behind the scenes at Orlando Shakespeare Theater

The Cymbeline Reviews are Rolling in!

With opening weekend and our first student matinee complete, Cymbeline is officially up and running! We are just loving the fact that we are able to present this rarely performed play, and it looks as though the critics agree.

Check out two highly positive reviews from Orlando Weekly & the Orlando Sentinel:

Orlando Weekly: Into the Forest
“Those who consider standard Shakespeare stultifying will find Orlando Shakes’ Cymbeline refreshingly unstuffy. The show’s tone, which whipsaws from comedy to tragedy mid-monologue, is a successful blend of Disney fairy tale (complete with poison-brewing wicked stepmom) and potboiler soap opera, with a dash ofJersey Shoreprurience.” – Seth Kubersky

Sentinel Theater Review: ‘Cymbeline’ from Orlando Shakespeare Theater
“Cymbeline has had an up-and-down history; sometimes coming into favor with theater groups, often ignored. As such, it remains one of Shakespeare’s lesser-known works. But this is just the type of beautiful performance that could — and should — change that.” – Matt Palm

I loved the play when I saw it in the student matinee and will be seeing it again with my family. All of the characters were played extreamly well, it is the best experience I have ever had with Shakespeare!!!!
